The Tanago Pakistan steam tour featuring HGS 2277 and 2303 starts now!
We arrived at Pakistan already 1 week ahead of the tour to discuss the last open matters with representatives of the Pakistan Railways and the Ministry of Railways. Funnily, we had some meeting with more open questions after the discussion than before …
Most issues have been checked and answered in a good way for our charter trains, only 3 days ahead of the tour the last visa was granted, so basically we are looking forward to run a perfect tour.
The only answer we could not get is the one about the public relation event at Rawalpindi station upon departure of our first charter train. The political and railway administration want to use our train for a massive media event promoting the railways and their leading staff. We have already been asked to be available for various TV interviews and need to keep smiling before we head off towards Golra.
Both HGS have been tested in the weeks before our tour, the schedules are confirmed, and the weather forecast is merciful with 10 hours of sunshine for the next days to come!
Our picture shows HGS 2277 at the Peshawar shed, we need to make a few cosmetic changes to the look of the locomotive, and overall we are happy with the efforts, the Pakistan Railways put in our trip!
