The "Conch" in China was closed down
In May 2016 we also visited "CONCH" – a 762mm limestone railway near Nanjing on our "Industrial Railways in China" tour. The diesel locomotives of the JMY380 series served a 13 Km long line. Unfortunately, protests of local residents against the "loud honking" and the advance of modern housing construction led to the discontinuation of the railway in Febraury 2019.
