Pakistan: Day 3 - Protocol (again) and HG/S 2277
Day 3 startet with a surprise when our plans were changed by the DS Rawalpindi who invited us to his office in the morning. Of course we were pleased to meet him again (after the railway minister´s inaugurational speech at the departure of our charter train 2 days ago) but obviously our itinerary got a bit messed up by the time we spent at the Rawalpindi HQ,
On our way to Attock City we briefly stopped at the Golra Sharif railway museum, photographed the exhibits, and were rewarded with a heavy diesel-doubleheaded coal train towards Peshawar. The diesel guys were satisfied and we finally moved to Attock.
HG/S 2277 from Peshawar had arrived the day before and sat at the steam shed, wating for action. We uncoupled the auxiliary tender to make the locomotive fit on the turntable and after some discussions going on we could take the first photographs of that engine in motion!
A few more runpasts were staged at the station and the signals near the western cabin before the sun set for today!
