Our new page is online!

10 years ago we put our first charters online, at that time still in a simple version of our website. Our activities grew over the years, at the same time the legal requirements for the operation of a professional tour operator increased, so we decided that a few months ago to do the next step and to give you as our customer the possibility to book our trips easier and to manage your personal information directly online!

Our new page will be online in the course of Tuesday, 29. October 2019 – but no worries: the address of our homepage remains the same: www.tanago.de!

Visually only very little will change, because we have been collecting so many positive comments about our website that we want to continue to offer you a familiar picture.

Inside the page, however, everything has changed, and this primarily concerns the way you book in the future: we have installed a "shop" in the background, which handles bookings and invoices automatically. So far we have done all this manually, which had the advantage that we could freely write any text and formatting into the invoice as we wanted. But it was also a lot of work: manually issuing 40 confirmations and invoices for the Mariazellerbahn was a very time-consuming and labor-intensive undertaking! And at some point a number error crept in, or a name was misspelled, which again meant extra work for the correction …

On the other hand you had no control over your data: if your email changed, you had to write to us especially for it. If you had a question about the invoice, it had to be clarified by email or on the phone.

Now everything changes: with just a few clicks you create a customer account with us and can manage all data comfortably yourself! When you will be logged in, you do not have to fill out all the fields again but can import all data from your profile. That´s really easy!

By defining all categories for services that can be booked per tour, you know exactly what you are booking and avoid ambiguities! You select these services during the booking process and then put the trip in the shopping basket. Now all you have to do is go to the checkout where our shop will ask you several times whether you really want to book what you have selected, and if you confirm everything at the end of the booking page, your tour booking will automatically send to us.

Internally, our shop now checks whether we have already reached the minimum number of participants for the trip or not. You can also see that, too: if a trip is marked with a light green traffic light, it can be booked, but the minimum number of participants has not yet been reached. If the traffic light changes to dark green, the tour will run. And if it's red, it's fully booked and everything's too late.

If the minimum number of participants has not yet been reached (website status: light green), you will receive a confirmation e-mail for your booking.
If the trip is already on dark green, our shop will automatically create and send a confirmation including invoice and payment protection certificate.

By the way: Thomas Cook's bankruptcy has shown how important a payment protection certificate is when booking a package tour (in the UK it is similar to ATOL). Without such a certificate the deposited money is gone in case of bankruptcy. Apart from that, security certificates are mandatory by law. If somebody offers tours of more than 500 €, or a special train with other services, but hands out no payment protection certificate, violates the law.

All bookings and invoices are managed centrally in your customer account. So if you can no longer find an invoice or your postal address has changed, you can view it directly online: download a copy of the invoice, change your telephone number or address!

Apropos telephone numbers: when you book our trips, you will have to provide an emergency telephone number in the future. We hope not to have to call, and hopefully nothing will happen in the future, but in case of an emergency we would like to know who we can contact.

You can easily reach your customer account via the link "Login" in the top right corner of the page. If you are already registered, you can view all information with a single click on "My account" in the top right corner!

We have invested a lot of time and money in our new website and hope that you like it as much as we do. Nothing is perfect, and maybe we missed a malfunction while testing the site. So if you really notice a bug, please send us an email – we are looking forward to your feedback! And if you can't get to friendly with our new booking system, please do not give up: call us or send an email, and we'll see what we can do.
