We have been guests on the Ybbstal railway several times with our photo tours. We were all the more shocked when we learnt of the intention to close the Ybbstalbahn and build a cycle path on the line.
In June 2024, our planned Ybbstal tour did not take place - let's call it - for internal communication reasons of the Ybbstalbahn. But now we are going!
- Monday, 7 October 2024; with the steam locomotive to the Schneeberg (separate programme)
- Tuesday, 8 October 2024: With the diesel locomotive 2093.01 and two diefferent train sets from Kienberg Gaming to Pfaffenschlag and back, night shots with the steam loco U on the turn table in Kienberg.
- Wednesday, 9 October 2024: Autumn Steam with 498.04 and a freight train on the Steyrtalbahn.
- Thursday, 10 October 2024: Night shots on the Wendelstein Railway with the old HGe 2/2 locomotive (separate programme).
On the Ybbstalbahn mountain line, we travel from Kienberg over the steep line to Pfaffenschlag with diesel loco 2093.01 and two different train sets. Lunz am See will not be accessible in 2024 due to the line renovation. Suitable photo stops are of course planned on the trestlework bridges typical of this route and at the prominent photo points.
As usual with Tanago, all participants travel on the train, and we "decorate" the locomotive and carriages with high-visibility waistcoats on the transfer routes, as non-paying onlookers are absolutely undesirable on this journey.
On our last trips, we were able to take many beautiful pictures along the route and discovered even more interesting motifs to realise.
