As far as we know, there has never been a photo charter up to the Schneeberg. We have negotiated for a long time and now have a cogwheel steam locomotive and an old, authentic train set with which we will steam up to the Schneeberg in the morning and late afternoon. This tour is an excellent introduction to a week of railway travel in Austria. This will be followed by our "Ybbstalbahn charter" with steam and diesel on 8 and 9 October 2024.

Our program
We start at 08:00 with our steam train from Puchberg up to Schneeberg, where we reach the mountain station around 11:00 after many photo stops. At around 12:30 we reach the valley station again, where the locomotive takes on water and is stripped. Then it's time for a lunch break, because at 2:30 p.m. we head back up for the second ascent. After several photo stops, we reach the top station at around 4:45 pm. We are expected back in the valley at 6 pm.
We will send the detailed timetable with all photo stops to the participants about 2 weeks before the start of the trip.
Tour price
480 euros per participant for the whole day (2 mountain trips) to travel on the train.
Our services
- Authentic steam train hauled by a cogwheel steam locomotive up to Schneeberg on October 7, 2024;
- Expert and experienced Tanago tour guide (German + English speaking) plus local tour guide.
- Not included in the tour price are tips, drinks, personal expenses, travel to and from the Schneebergbahn.
