Saxony is one of our favourite location to run photo charters, the narrow gauge railways there offer so much authentic steam action and photographers and railways had their fun on every tour. Nowhere else you will get that much "original" steam action on different lines in such a short time. We have been welcoming guests from Britain, the EU, Japan, Canada, and the USA on previous charters, and would like to invite you for another week of steam action in Saxony!
This time we offer on 5 days to visit Saxon narrow gauge railways - on each of them we have prepared a special photo and video program. We start at Annaberg-Buchholz from our regular, well-received tour hotel, from where we will motor to the different lines each day.
Our itinerary comprises 4 locomotives of the IV K series with DR passengers and freight trains. we will visit the Pressnitztalbahn, the Döllnitzbahn, and the Fichtelbergbahn. Here we have a rare IV K doubleheader because we moved 99 680 from Freital-Heinsberg to Oberwiesenthal only for our charter.

Saturday 21 March, 2020
Arrival of all participants to Annaberg-Buchholz in our centrally located tour hotel.
Sunday and Monday, 22. and 23. March 2020 - Pressnitztalbahn
Every day a Saxon IV K covers several authentic photo trains for us between Steinbach and Jöhstadt. Among other things a DR passenger train and various mixed trains, formed from the large vehicle stock of the Pressnitztalbahn. On Sunday evening night shots with 2 IV K under steam in front of the locomotive shed in Jöhstadt. Sunday and Monday different IV Ks are used.
Tuesday, 24. March 2020 - Döllnitzbahn
The Saxon IV K 99 5984 covers a mixed train, made up of the DR- luggage car, DR- passenger car and several freight cars, for us on the route Mügeln - Oschatz - Mügeln - Glossen.
Wednesday and Thursday, 25 and 26 March 2020 - Fichtelbergbahn
Certainly one of the highlights of this tour. We have the IV K 99 608 from Freital- Hainsberg to the Fichtelbergbahn specially converted and drive there on Wednesday a mixed train from narrow-gauge freight cars and on Thursday another mixed, formed from DR- labeled passenger cars and luggage cars and a rolling stock loaded with a freight car of the type Es. During the lunch break in Oberwiesenthal there is enough time to visit the local locomotive workshop.
Either you drive on Thursday evening still in direction home (end of the meeting at approx. 18 o'clock) or you spend the night still another night in the Tourhotel and start the return journey on Friday morning. All those who still have one night to go can take a look at the Tanago annual review 2019 on Thursday evening, at the end of the tour.
